Eh.. I guess this is somewhat of a rant/spoiler journal. I had high hopes for Square's newest fantasy but its not looking so good anymore...

Btw I liked 358/2 Days despite some peoples opinions about it. It delivers what you should expect from a game about nobodies. People expecting Organization XIII to be all sexual and phail would be disappointed indeed haha. There goes all that 'AkuRoku'

Just about the only thing good about that annoying Xion.

I loved using almost all characters in the multiplayer even those like Vexen and Luxord. I think they overdid it with the balance of power. There is something off about Xemnas being defeated by lesserheartless. Its not even worth playing as many of the characters until you have some of the best gears.

Now just until we're fed some crap about why Ventus looks exactly like Roxas. Normal people die and give birth to one nobody, Sora has like.. FOUR.



Anyway some -unfortunate- spoilers about Final Fantasy XIII.. its not so interesting anymore. I like how some of the characters sound, but.. I loved Final Fantasy how it was. Twilight is to vampires, cosplay is to Halloween, coat mods are to Organization XIII.. and Final fantasy XIII is pretty much to therestofthem.

Originality is fresh an mm but there's something to be learned from TOO MUCH originality. It ruins what you're imitating or making a sequel of. Square Enix completely killed the species with this one.. in terms of graphics it'll be the best thing since sliced bread. Yet there goes all of the customization of Final Fantasy. It doesn't look like there will be different weapon models to collect, the characters are set with certain kinds of magic. There are no limit breaks because that's what summoning is for or something. There doesn't look like there is a system at ALL for stat growth. Hell there doesn't even seem to be GIL.

Whut? Final Fantasy and no gil?

This seems totally linear and I'm disappointed. I'll be surprised if the characters even level up at all. If they don't level them some fantasy this will be. Its not really 'rpg' without anything that makes an rpg. The story is all chapter based. Devil May Cry and Dirge of Cerberus? Ithadababy.

XIII's story could've been redeeming.

It won't be so...

The game points out how this fantasy will have its conflict with religion. The gods, falcie crap (Occuria) want to tell the world what to do and manipulate crystals (suncryst). The townsfolk misbehave so they pick a meanone (Ashelia) to go rid the world of undesirables. The party doesn't like to be messed with but unfortunately for them these failcies aren't as fscking stupid as the Occuria and putaspellonthem. In time this will make the game Resident Evil 4 (not kidding, srs zombies), or if they do destroy the world they themselves will be turned into crystals these things manipulate. It looks like that will make them summons themselves. Their own summons were crystals (Fayth). Meanwhile the government (Shinra) uses its military force (SOLDIER) to go and throw everyone off their floating utopia (Midgar) if they associate with our poor party. And the lieutenants (1st Class) are especially out to mess up everyone's shit. This evil woman (Some kind of Sephiroth) even goes as far to completely mess with one of the party members by being the cause of turning his (Barret) kid (Marlene) into a crystal (is to Shinra droppingthebomb.. plate..thing). Only the game is the hardest of core and the kid really does get crushed haha...

The characters mostly seem okay, rather, their summons, but... a couple of their weapons are curious choices. Vanille, the redheaded one has... a fishing pole as a weapon. This seems just a little out of place for this games setting? They have a little boy character like that last remnant shit. He has boomerangs which I don't think is so bad. I was wondering when a character might have this. Even so he looks like a cross between Cloud and Vaan. He has allofthegirly. He's just a 14 year old with what I think is the most boring summon (Alexander or whatever)so not that interesting.

Bahamut's summoner, again, is misleading. Just like X's little purple boy. Bahamut's summoner is a woman who.. inherited all of what Lightning lacks. Sense of humor, any kind of appeal, ect. Sazh is the Cid/Auron/Baltheir of the game it would seem. That's not so bad.. has an afro and is a pistol user. His summon is a new one and turned into an armored race car, not bad for firetransformers.

I guess this Brynhildr summon replaced Ifrit... even though Ifrit is still -supposedly- a summon in this game I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a crystal manipulated into attacking the party because noone but the cursed can summon. And anyone who is cursed is in the party.

And the last guy... is the Barret/Wakka/Bashe. Everyonehateshim. His name is Snow.. a buff guy named Snowy. Cloud was one thing but this one is BUFF. He has a rebel group (AVALANCHE) who doesntlike the government. At least Barret had buddies. The other members of the party? Well.. the boy, Hope, wants revenge because Snow killed his mother. Snow killed Lightning's sister. The NPCs of Snow's little group, three of them of course... BigWakkaguy (Biggs), Skinnysnowboardtechno (Wedge), Beachwoman (Jessie). Unlike Barret's buddies... after studying the story synopsis, -I- feel like these three are going to turn against snowflake for being a chickenwuss (He LOOKS just like an older KH Seifer.. complete with matching beanie -or a bandanna, right- and a white trench coat), and this is how they are destroyed. Noone fscks with the party.


I'm disappointed so far.. you only get something new from them once every9years and I really hope there is more to the game then what is confirmed. I still can't believe this thing will be chapter based... Iliked wasting time with power leveling and collecting all optionals...

Versus XIII is even more disappointing.. it shouldn't be called 'Final Fantasy' anymore. More like.. Final IRL. That whole game will just be about some Japanese mafia and Noctis (CLOUD's remnant, complete with fusionswords) with cars and probably the same lack of customization as XIII and just... phail. It's perfect for people who areinlove with Japan and like some first person shooting advent children mix. I'll be skipping it..

Here's hoping XIII delivers better than my impression. XIV will be suck and annoying just like Xion too. Maybe XV (if it gets that far) will umm.. be a fantasy??
